The story board is the original idea of the opening sequence, it is how we pictured and imagined our opening sequence to be.
Scene one is of a black screen to create suspence which then fades into shot two which is of the couple walking in a park whilst the stalker is observing from a far, the audience sees this with an over the shoulder shot. Shot three is of the stalker on 'Facebook' stalking the couples profile, this allows her to come across as psychotic and demented.
Shot four is of the stalker closely examining an image of the couple, she starts to dismantle and to scribble over the photographs out of anger and jealousy. Shot five is of a black screen, text comes up with the words "WHEN JEALOUSY GETS OUT OF CONTROL". Shot six is an over the head shot of the stalker studying the images of the couple that she has prepared on her wall herself.
Shot seven is of a black screen with the words "AND IT BECOMES AN OBSESSION" displayed. Shot eight is of a jump-cut of the stalker watching a video of the couple together on 'Youtube', this is shown with an over the shoulder shot. Shot nine is of the stalker rewinding the video again and again to emphasise how obsessed she is with the couple.

Pre- production
Locations of a thriller
The only location that our group films in is one of our group members bedrooms/ We used this location because it is most likely where a stalker would investigate and spy on their victims as they are in their own comfort and isolated by everyone and everything else.
This is the risk assessment about on our opening sequence.

Prop List
Shot analysis
This covers all the shots that we used within our filming.
This is the production schedule that we stuck to, in our opening sequence.
Genre Conventions
Thriller
genres usually consists of frightful like elements. Thriller usually involve
some form of crime or espionage, which makes for a brilliant ending plot or
cliff hanger. Thrillers are usually compared to horrors as they are both
intended for trepidation on the audience, however horrors typically involve
gore and blood whereas thrillers involve mystery and suspense to unveil an
exciting story. Thrillers usually densely stimulates the audiences
mood as they start to come up with assumptions and expectations about the
story line and plot, they begin to feel uncertainty, anxiety and uneasy, they
begin to feel high levels of anticipation and involve villains, red herrings
and cliffhangers.
Sub-genres
allow the film to have more than one genre element to the film. Thriller
sub-genres are used a lot in films to make their film more exciting and
interesting rather than having just one genre. Films such as ‘Obsessed’; which
carries a romance sub genre and ‘Limitless’; which carries a sci-fi sub genre
to it, are highly successful films mainly because they show different genre
elements rather than keeping the film as just a thriller. Obsessed portrays
various emotions and feelings such as love, jealousy and anger, which makes the
audience intrigued and interested. Limitless portrays emotions such as fear,
excitement and anxiety which makes the audience feel as if they are in the
characters position.
Characters
make the film become real and alive. The characters make the storyline realistic, this is because the audience can relate to the characters by their ethnicity, situation, age, gender etc. The antagonist character is usually the main character within thriller genres that stalks or aims to kill the victim, followed by the victim or protagonist character that aims to save the day, unveils the mystery or gets murdered.
Locations are important in thrillers as they create a scenery and atmosphere that allows the audience to grasp an idea and understanding of the plot. Usually locations in thriller have a dark environment that makes the audience start becoming fearful and wary. Locations is a major way to create tension, suspense and mystery.
Dialogue within thrillers are used to make the audience understand the characters personalities, relationships with other characters and to know what is happening within the plot. Dialogue makes the audience start to use their imagination and therefore start to think about the overall story and what character is the villain/hero etc.
Mise-en-scene is most important in thrillers as the majority of thrillers them use such high quality and good uses of this. Successful and popular thrillers draw their audience into the story. Mise-en-scene includes props, dialogue, characters, locations, sound, lighting, and costume. Thillers use music to create suspense and causes a more dramatic scene in the thriller. The props used is to create a sense of realism and a sense of familiarity toward the audience, as some props used maybe similar to the audiences and therefore can relate to these similarities with the scene. The costume used allow audience to be drawn to the character and to therefore they grasp a feel of the characters personality, financial situation, style, age, hobbies and interests.

Treatment
In the following I will be explaining
the idea and concept of my groups opening sequence. The opening
sequence is called 'I can see you', it is a thriller based on an ex-girlfriend
that has hatred toward her previous boyfriends new relationship. Within the
opening sequence we as an audience will see the ex-girlfriend stalking the
couple online and by looking at images of the new couple.
The opening sequence is in a sepia effect to illustrate that the
opening sequence is mysterious. Throughout the opening sequence as the audience
we only see the stalker and the back of their head, we done this to create
suspense and to allow the audience to question who they are, what gender they
are etc, the shots we used to represent this were over the should, mid shot,
close-up.
As the opening sequence begins the production logo is shown along
with the music in the background; we used this type of music to allow the
audience to already grasp a feeling of what genre the film is, as the sequence
goes on we see the camera zooming on into the 'stalker' watching a video clip
of the couple sharing their love for one another, we chose for the stalker to
watch this because it is one of three props that the stalker will be analysing
to show how corrupted and perverted she is.
The different camera angles used such as close ups display how
intrigued she is by the video, she draws the laptop closer, and plays with her
hair because she is distressed. A mid-shot is then used to show that she raises
her arm and then bangs the laptop in anger, after she then has pictures of the
couple in her hands she then throws them about on the floor whilst closely
studying them this is to illustrate how demented she is.
She then displays pictures on her wall of the couple and then sits
comfortably whilst staring and the pictures the camera zooms in on the pictures
so that the audience can see the couple and what it is that the stalker is
looking at.
The scene then suddenly changes to a black screen and the credits
are then introduced, displaying the directors, actors, producers, the company
presenting it and then lastly the title of the opening sequence.
Throughout the sequence we have not used any dialogue, this is
because we thought that the type of sequence that we have would not have a purpose
for dialogue, there is no need for it as the music used as well as the camera
angles and acting flows perfectly without the need for dialogue as it also
builds suspense.
We have used various camera angles and camera effects in the
opening scene one of the main effects that we used were jump cuts; this was to
make the scene interesting- switching from one part of the sequence to another.
Influences such as a video clip of a young couple and the 'Rihanna
- We found love' music video ( that I have previously discussed in a previous
blog entry) helped extremely as the idea of having a cute couple came from the
video clip; we thought to try and illustrate their love for one another in our
actors. The idea of having jump cut's was from Rihanna's film as we saw that
the different shots in her music video would be more interesting with jump cuts
rather than without.
The opening sequence conforms to the conventions of a thriller as
thriller films are generally mysterious, subtle and always tend on having a
suspicious story line to it which allows the audience to question the film
which draws the audience in to continue watching the film. My groups opening
sequence is subtle is terms of the story line, from the opening sequence the
story is not given away, there is clues that appeal to the audience but the
plot is not revealed, because the film could also be considered as a sub genre
between thriller-romance the film is mysterious the audience can obviously see
that a couple is involved and there is a stalker which therefore gives romantic
elements to it. Because the opening sequence allows the audience to grasp an
idea of the storyline they can understand that the stalker is highly disturbed
and has a history with either the boyfriend or girlfriend.
Our choice of location were decided by all of us we decided to
have it set in one of our group members bedroom, to create a sense of realism to
the opening scene, as ex-girlfriends and ex-boyfriends tend to stalk their
ex-partners new relationship in their bedroom, on Facebook, but not to such
extremes as the stalker in our opening sequence. Because the stalker is only
seen stalking in their bedroom this gives the audience the understanding that
they are lonely which is expected of a stalker.
In conclusion the opening sequence allows the audience to
understand that the stalker is highly obsessed with the couple, to understand
that the stalker is insecure and has extreme anxiety in herself, the audience
can see elements of psychotic behaviour. Because of the angles, lighting and
atmosphere being all mysterious but yet casual draws the audience in.

Influences
This blog
entry will show the four different influences that made us create the idea of 'I
can see you'.
'Tumblr' sensation- Video clip
This is a video clip that we used as an influence for our opening
sequence. The video clip is about a couple that met on 'Tumblr' and how in love
they are. The idea of having 'Danielle Burke and 'Khari Paterson' for our main
actors came from this video we thought the couple in the video look adorable
together and therefore we should demonstrate that in our opening sequence.
Here are pictures of the actors
Danielle Burke Khari Patterson

Here are pictures of the actual couple within the video.
Girlfriend
Boyfriend
Here displays pictures; one of the actual couple which I took from their video
and another showing Danielle and Khari doing more or less the same pose, I am
showing these two pictures to illustrate that we have been influenced by the
couple in the video, which we have used in our actual opening sequence.
The couple
Danielle and Khari
Secondly we
used the idea of using jump-cuts in our opening sequence from the music video
by Rihanna called we found love. This music video shows various different
jump-cuts to illustrate the couples love for one another and how it all eventually
goes wrong. Each different shot is different from the other showing different
events occurring but at the same time it is similar to a thriller-romance
opening sequence as it tells a love story turning noisome.

video
Obsessed- Film
Thirdly we used the idea of having a female stalker from the film
Obsessed. This is because we thought to make our opening sequence
different from most thrillers therefore we came up with the idea of a stalker
within a thriller stalking a couple, although we thought to exchange
stereotypical gender roles rather than stereotypically using a male as a
stalker, so used 'Obsessed' as an inspiration.
Kidulthood- Film
Lastly the idea of using teenagers as the actors came from the idea of 'Kidulthood'. Kidulthood is a drama about teenagers living within

Questionnaire: One to one interview
Here shows an
interview I have done with one of my class mates, Shannon Dwyar. The purpose of
this interview is to investigate what people that enjoy thriller films look for
in a thriller film. I asked Shannon various
questions to conduct the investigation. People like Shannon
are my target audience and therefore this interview helps when it comes me
producing my groups and I's opening sequence.
The interviewee; Shannon Dwyar.
